Friday 23rd November 2018   John Kirkpatrick
Picture
John Kirkpatrick is the veteran squeezebox maestro of the English folk scene. In tunes from the trenches John takes you on a journey through a full kitbag of songs and stories from the two world wars. You will hear a selection of popular songs of the day from the home front and the front line. Songs of ordinary folk living and fighting under the extraordinary circumstances that shaped all of our futures. There is the song about rationing "Never Mind the Food Controller."  Another a political treatment of "Run Rabbit Run." Ewan MacColl's "Browned Off" from the days when he was a soldier. This will be a very special concert to end our year of concerts.
